Jocelyn Wildenstein, a socialite from Switzerland and an ex-wife of billionaire Alec Wildenstein who passed away in February 2008 at age 67, had undergone numerous cosmetic surgeries to achieve the look of a cat in order to repossess the love of his husband during their marriage. Alec was unable to recognize his wife after the surgeries and was said to have even screamed at the first sight of her new look. Instead of stopping, Jocelyn turned to more surgeries to look like the cats and lions her husband love.

Getting plastic surgery can make BDD worse. As individuals with BDD are often not happy with the outcome of the procedures, they tend to focus on other parts of their face and body which they think are in need of enhancement or changes. Thus, if cosmetic surgeons will continue to serve individuals with BDD, it is not surprising that many individuals are bound to turn out looking like Jocelyn Wildenstein or any other creature in the near future.
